Hasselblad's Master Awards 2018 Now Open for Entries

Competitions are fantastic to push yourself and create the best work you’ve ever produced. It’s also a great way to compare your imagery to others and see how you could improve your craft. Broncolor announced their NextGen contest for photographers under 30 a few days ago, and now it’s Hasselblad’s turn to open their traditional Masters Awards 2018.

The Hasselblad Masters Award is divided into 11 categories: aerial, architecture, fine art, fashion/beauty, landscape, portrait, product, project/21 (under 21), street/urban, wedding, and wildlife.

All of them are open to all professional photographers active for more than three years who are using a digital camera of at least 16 megapixels. The only restriction is for the Project/21, which is dedicated to rising talents aged 21 or less.

The winners will receive a medium format camera from Hasselblad and have their work published in the well-known Hasselblad Masters’ book, which will be released in 2018. Although winning a medium format camera is extremely appealing, seeing your name next to some of the best photographers in the industry is probably even more rewarding! Don’t let this chance go; submit your entries before 10th June 2017.

For more information about the competition, its rules, and regulations, head over to Hasselblad’s website.

I won the project//21 category for 2016, and I can't express how much I think everyone should enter. It was such a great experience and opened up a lot of doorways. I was treated like part of the Hasselblad family!

Can you win if you rent a Hasselblad, shoot something great, and submit it?

I'm asking that for everyone who think they can't enter because of the price tag of the camera.

No need to rent- they accept photos taken with any camera over 16mp (ie. it's fine to shoot on d800s, 5ds etc) 😊

That's good to know. Thanks
