What Type of Photographer Are You?

There are a lot of reasons why people pick up cameras and become photographers, ranging from making a living to simply wanting to document life around them or explore their creativity. So, what type are you? This fun video features a photographer discussing the two types of people that head outside with their cameras.

Coming to you from James Popsys, this great video discusses two types of photographers: those who head out with their camera as an accessory and those who head out specifically to use their camera. When I first got interested in photography, I was definitely in the latter camp. Everything was super interesting, and I was going to document it no matter what. It was fun (for a bit), but eventually, it became tiring and made the act of taking photos feel more like a chore than something I started doing for the enjoyment of it. I eventually stopped bringing my camera along for a while, before I finally settled on just bringing a small point and shoot or (gasp) my phone and just enjoying being outside, taking the occasional photo if and when I felt like it and only if doing so wouldn't negatively affect my experience. Check out the video above for Popsys' full thoughts.

That's not a clickbait title at all for this video...

What if you're firmly in both camps?

I don't mind spending thousands to grab a handful of photos overseas, but also don't mind spending thousands just to enjoy an overseas location with photos being a secondary outcome.

The kind that doesn't click on videos when they are expecting an actual article.
