Pricing for Sigma 24mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Lens Released: $849 - Now Available for Pre-Order

Sigma continues to make a splash with their line of Art lenses. The newest addition to the line, the Sigma 24mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Lens was just announced on Monday, and today Sigma released the price for the lens, coming in at $849. The lens is already available for pre-order on B&H.

The lens directly competes against the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 24mm f/1.4G ED Lens ($1,749), and the similarly-priced Canon EF 24mm f/1.4L II USM Lens ($1,649). If the new Sigma has the same optical performance as the previous lenses in the line, it will certainly be a stiff competitor for the Nikon and Canon lenses at slightly over half of the price of the slightly cheaper Canon 24mm.

The lens can now be pre-ordered from B&H.

Technical specifications, MTF charts, and other resources can be found on the Sigma website.

I really wish they would weather seal these ART series lenses, even if it added another $50 to the price or whatever for some rubber seals (if that's all it is -- I don't know).

hmm, the 35 1.4 art definitely outperforms the canon 35 1.4, but that lens is old and due for a mk2 makeover any day now. I'm curious to see if this 24 1.4 really measures up against the canon 24 1.4 mk2 or if it's simply a great performer "for the money".

If this lens lives up to the Art series so far (and they haven't disappointed yet), that's one killer deal! I think the Art series may also have a longer-term effect on how Canon and Nikon are going to have to price their premium lenses.

Excited for this lens, if its anything like my Sigma 50 1.4 (my go to champ) it will be added to my work bag. Happy Sigma is shaking up the industry.
