Once a Lively and Happy Room

Today people refer to this place within the Elkmont Campground (in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park) as a 'ghost town.' But a hundred years ago this place was a mountain resort where people built whimsical, eclectic cottages for weekend and summer retreats from their city life.

This photo is a look into a room (of one of the eclectic cottages) that was once filled with life and laughter but is now dormant and serves as a reminder of how life changes over time.
