Renowned photographers Peter Hurley and Tony Taafe are organizing an initiative to photograph 10,000 people in a single day across all 50 states. For free.
With the coronavirus pandemic putting millions of people out of work, it's hard to pull up the income for a new headshot in order to get a new job now that things are starting to open up. Studies show that having a professional headshot on LinkedIn can mean 21 times the profile views and 9 times the "connection" requests compared to people without one.
But how do you get a great headshot when you don't have any money? Well, on Juy 22nd, Headshot Booker is partnering with over 200 different photographers to give headshots to 10,000 unemployed people across the United States in a single day, all for free. They will be taking place from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. local time in 10-minute sessions and are open to anyone unemployed.
Initiatives like this are one of the many ways that photography can help change people's lives for the better. Headshots can be expensive, so offering them for free for a day is a big help. Not to mention, it's a fantastic way to drum up new business and make lots of connections.
Will you be taking advantage of this offer? Or maybe you're already volunteering to help!
