This is a provocative and powerful image, and I mostly agree with the sentiment. Except I don't think we should make racists afraid. They mostly already are afraid. Intolerant and racist attitudes seem more a cause for shame than fear. Also, I suspect that most people who express racist attitudes do love themselves about as much as their neighbors, which is to say, they have low regard for both. There is definitely much hypocrisy in the US around notions of race. If the current occupant of the White House has done anything positive, it has been to shine a bright, bright light on it, even if unintentionally.

Well done.

Thank you so much for your wonderful compliment. The POTUS has definitely brought the racial divide to the foreground as you said. Racism has been covert and insidious and hard to quantify. America isn't racist because of POTUS but he has revealed the demographics that support and condone it. Liberal places are getting more liberal and I'm afraid the conservative places more conservative. America deeply needs a leader who can bridge this divide in 2020.

On the aesthetic: the shadow was actually incidental and I added the cross. I shaped it a little to look like a nun. I wasn't certain on the light but it is meant to be satirical. I wanted it to have an artificial feel like a medieval painting. It is meant to be provocative and satirical.
