Self portrait

January 28, 2015

Self portrait made for our wedding invitations. Inspired by Annie Leibovitz' series for Disney.

Our wedding invitations where in fairytale style and I really wanted the picture of my wife to be soft and romantic and have my portrait contrast with it.
I found the photo of David Beckham on a horse by Annie Leibovitz and knew I wanted to do something like that but in my own style of course.

This was shot somewhere on the countryside in Holland.
We had a 2400 watts stabilized generator and 3 cheap strobes (800 watts and 2x300 watts)
Of course a lot of retouching went in this, the cape alone is made out of 5 pictures. We tried different things where my wife threw it in the air but we also rigged it to a tree with fish wire... which didn't work of course!

Check the the other photo in the serie as well. A portrait of my wife as a princess.

Nice work here. It's kinda look like for a fairy tail TV series.
